I think I just met you on the street and suggested that you use this board as a way to contact Christine. If I had known the problem, I would have advised that you call Abraham, our local vet, who makes house calls. His number is 315 108 5840. Good luck, and thanks for trying to help this pup. | -----------------Re: Dog help/rescue

I just called Abraham and he is not here. He will call you Haidee. Do you think the dog has been poisoned? I have some activated charcoal which sometimes helps. If you need a ride to Melaque with the dog, I will help. I have 5 dogs and I feel very sad about all dogs in distress. | -----------------Re: Dog help/rescue

We are doing what we can to help this poor dog. Luckily our vet Rocio who is visiting from Guadalajara is for the holidays and was just leaving her dad's place when I drove over. She was able to look at the dog and get us on track with electrolytes, anti-nausea and I took sardines and chicken soup and antibiotics for the dog's eyes. According to passersby the dog's chin was ripped by a javelina (wild pig). Tomorrow we will take it to Abraham and see what the overall prognosis is. If there are any animal lovers out there who wish to contribute pesos, we could really use some for doxycycline, worming and tick and flea treatment and an IV. I've been buying dogfood and caring for 4 dogs (besides my own 4 Mexican dogs) who had been dumped near the highway last year. Gerardo alerted me to them as they had gravitated to a kind hearted abuela who didn't have the funds to care for them. I took them to Cisco's Spay and Neuter clinic and treated them for 6 weeks with ampicillin, and they are doing really well now. But there are always more who need antiobiotics for their eyes and flea and tick treatment and worming. And food! Truly amazing their will to survive is and I feel honoured to have met these special beings. | -----------------Re: Dog Help: Pesos needed.

In my haste, I said 6 weeks when it was 10 days twice a day for the ampicillin. They are so healthy and happy now. | -----------------
