Anymore, I think I believe in Santa Claus, or is it the Three Wise Kings, because they have arrived. On Thursday there was little around the Christmas tree and now, wow, they arrived with gifts galore. We will have fun with the kids tonight! Don't forget this evening, 5:00 pm or so at the 'Jardin' to be ready for the Blue Bay dancers that arrive at 6:00. It is going to be a fulfilling year, feels like it already, Cruz | -----------------Re: 3 Kings Day Event

Cruz thank you immensely for your post regarding 3 Kings Day and the “happenings” in town. I have been checking for days for such a posting. Normally I only look at posts which subject line would interest me ... I never would have thought that Wowie Zowie would be a Post for 3 Kings Day. | -----------------A Big Happening

With about 500 kids and gifts galore to watch. But first the Blue Bay Dancers, who weren't too scantily clad this time, used children's props like balls, hula hoops and jump ropes to entertain. In between dance numbers, we saw some children play games and vie for prizes on stage. They were priceless. Then before the raffle for more interesting toys, each child received a ball. There were balls flying every which way. And, as the raffling started, Mexican sweet bread and hot chocolate were doled out to lines of kids. It took a couple of hours to distribute all the presents to all the little ones that waited with baited breath to hear their number called. Then you would see them joyously running to their parents to show their prize. A little 3 - 4 year-old played with her plastic tea set in front of me, making coffee and food for the captivated father who participated in the make-believe. The soccer coach, Agape, was happy to see some of the boys get soccer balls. "This keeps them practicing and in shape", he said. Not sure that the girls got any but next time they will, lol. Of course, the grand prizes, 5 bicycles and tricycle, were the crowning event. These came from our donations and Tamarindo's. All in all the evening was a huge success. I wish there had been more chairs and that the kids cleaned up after. But Francisco and Esmeralda want to send everyone a huge 'gracias' for making it a great event. They were much in awe at how contributions arrived. Francisco spent all day Saturday shopping. When I saw him that evening he had a large happy smile on his face and his blue eyes twinkled. We and the community did it. It was well organized. A happy pat on all our backs. Cruz PS: Boy, was that ever a sunset. It glowed as I have never seen it, much like our evening, lol. | ----------------- |
