It is now parked at its base, inside the new fence at the Centro de Salud. You might want to take a minute to admire it, and to meet our new doctor at the center, Dr. Martin.
Work is not yet done just because the ambulance is here. We still need to get plates and register the vehicle, get insurance, and continue with the work on the base. I have contracted with Lalo to build a storage room, which should begin next week. I'm in process of finding a palapa builder to create a palapa to shelter the ambulance--happy to hear recommendations. I'm meeting this week with the Jefe de Gabinete of La Huerta to work out a maintenance contract, and with the entire Proteccion Civil team to discuss how the ambulance and the crew can best serve our community. Of course, further donations are needed and welcomed.
But just for today, take a look at the pictures, go see the ambulance, and be grateful that we have it here. I am certainly grateful to every one of you who have helped!
