Why has it taken so long to follow up on the greatest post in La Manzanila Message Board history? Doesn’t scrubbing bathrooms at 7:30 each morning also cleanse one’s soul?
After going back to the frozen tundra, I know you dream of leaving cold and cloudy in British Columbia and jumping on the next flight back down. With that in mind, get off the couch and get on the plane.
Let’s share our inner spirit first with our calendar. You’ll have to wait until the end for this week’s quiz.
Sunday, March 3
10 a.m.--12 p.m. Special Sunday Buffet
11 a.m.-1 p.m. Chava
New Orleans will celebrate with the Mardi Gras parade of Bacchus. We will celebrate with brunch on the beach, Chava’s guitar and Mardi Gras beads. Come dance with us.
Monday, March 4
Nametag Night!
6 p.m.-8 p.m.--Jazzie Funky Reggae
Admit it. How many people do you “know” only to always give them an awkward greeting? That ends with our first Nametag Night. Next thing you know, some folks will complain they liked the old days better when you could not buy a T-shirt with the words “La Manzanilla” and they liked not knowing anyone’s name. Regardless, you know Juanito and Kaleo and you know you want to seem them play without paying a cover. Cool people might even get some Mardi Gras beads if they know what to call the day before Mardi Gras.
Tuesday, March 5
Mardi Gras Party
Chava, 6 p.m.
Come hang with Chava as he channels his inner-Louisiana and works his magic on the guitar. Carmen does not realize this, but she will make her jambalaya. Mateo will parade around with Marcos and Dulce’s precious kids and give cool people Mardi Gras beads. Please make reservations by 3 p.m. Monday if you want jambalaya. Can you imagine having any more fun on this planet?
Wednesday, March 6
Noche Mexicana
Whether you have enjoyed her fish tacos or sopa azteca, you know Acela knows how to cook. And for 829 customers who have asked Mateo “Is there a special this evening” all of them, including you, will find your mouth and stomach in a state of bliss. Three words: Empanadas de camaron. Tambien champinones. OK, that’s now five words, but you get the idea.
Thursday, March 7
Michel, 6 p.m.
Drink margaritas for a cause. All of Michel’s tips go to our local kindergarten, so you can feel even better about yourself than you normally do for joining us. Impressive!
Friday, March 8
Kaleo and friends, 10 a.m.
Enjoy the beach. Enjoy the music. Enjoy by far and away the best breakfast buffet in La Manzanilla. Maybe even the best breakfast buffet on the beach between Cihuatlan and Yelapa.
Daily breakfast buffet
9-11 a.m.
Thanks for your support this season and please continue to spread the word. If you arrive between 9-11, please feel free to ask us to refresh a tray if we run out of a particular item. Many days you will find plenty of great choices after 11 as well. Also, Mateo will glady make you a waffle as it is included in the buffet.
Daily fruit buffet, 50 pesos. Daily waffles and fruit buffet, 70 pesos. Daily complete buffet, 90 pesos. Beverages extra.
