I give so much to Mexico, the USA, and your beloved Canada. Yes, you appreciate this love you receive at the little slice of paradise across the little bridge from the jardin. “What about your needs, Mateo?” Thanks for asking! Let the message board gods grant me the ability to share humor and information in a coherent manner at this late hour.
Saturday, March 30
We’re open! We even have a breakfast buffet--let’s hope you have not missed that by the time you read this. Granted, we have served our last bowl of chili for the season, but we still have everything else on the menu in stock.
Sunday, March 31
10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Sunday breakfast buffet at daily price! Solo fruta, 50 pesos; waffles con fruta, 70 pesos; completo, 90 pesos
Sunday, March 31
2:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
Musical extravaganza
We will have performances by the Chicos Malos, Michel, and Chava! Please plan to spend the day with us and enjoy this wonderful music without any cover charge. We will have t-shirt giveaways at 4:30 and 6:30 and this Sunday afternoon concert will hopefully convince some of you to hang out with us in the afternoons next season. Please come so Mateo does not have to sell his kidney in order to pay the musicians!
Wednesday, April 3
Daily breakfast buffet-9 a.m.-11 a.m.
This really has taken place daily since Oct. 31. The buffet on Apr. 3 might be the final one of the season. If you’re here between now and Wednesday, you know you will wish to come at least twice in these remaining days, correct? Besides, as one customer said the previous Wednesday, “Why haven’t we been coming here all year?” I later apologized for hosting the best breakfast buffet in the universe, or at least the best one in town.
Thursday, April 4
Chicos Malos, 6 p.m.
The original plan was to end the musical season Sunday, but Juanito let us know he was able to play. Come enjoy the music and the sunset.
BAR HOURS
We have been pleased to remain open almost constantly from 8 a.m.-9 p.m.the entire season. We will keep those hours in place through April 3 and maybe longer. Please be patient with us as we start a plan for the low season.
CAFE HOURS
Regardless of the bar, please understand the Cafe du Calcetin is a separate business and Roberto and Laura will continue make great coffee every morning and most afternoons and evenings. Please check with them with any specific questions about their hours and please assume at least one of the two business will always be open to serve you.
TOO CONFUSING?
We understand all of this might be too much to absorb. Here’s a better way to explain: Many of you just have a few days left before you return to the frozen tundra. You have three options with your pesos: 1. Use them to start a fire and melt icicles when you return home; 2. Put them in your sock below your bed; 3. Spend them at Crocodile Bar and Cabanas, especially on Sunday afternoon!

We can post there daily! We can even talk about the part of our business there that gets jealous when everyone asks Mateo about rentals at Casa Maguey. We can even post pictures of what it looks like from the second floor! Neat!

While you give Mr. Zuckerberg all of your personal information, please don’t forget to send some love to all of your favorite establishments in La Manzanilla. Just as the cool kids realize you feel great about yourself for purchasing a t-shirt with a crocodile logo and the words “La Manzanilla” across the front, you will also love the sensation of clicking “like” on this page and supporting your other favorite spots in town with one simple click.
