It’s late! The message board time says it’s even later. Does this give me seven hours before I have to rake sand and scrub toilets or six? If you find yourself reading this from the frozen tundra, please consider making your return trip to Canada on June 1, 2020, next season when you can see the sun and snow has melted. For those of you in town, thanks for realizing you’re friends find themselves using extra pesos to start a fire while you will use yours to enjoy a margarita. If these friends live in California, they might not have to contend with the cold, but they still find themselves tired of so much “winning” in Washington, D.C.
Thursday, April 4
9-11 a.m.--We still have a breakfast buffet! Come and enjoy it
6 p.m.--Los Chicos Malos
Think of this as bonus music for those of you still in town. Come and enjoy it with your margarita. Sorry, no more chili nor shrimp burgers on the menu, but we still have dorado for tasty fish tacos.
Friday, April 5
9-11 a.m.--We’ve had music every Friday for the breakfast buffet. If you send a good vibe to Juanito and Kaleo, they’ll play for our final Friday breakfast buffet.
Friday afternoon--Cold beer and fish tacos. You can even show up in bare feet.
Friday evening--A beautiful sunset, a beautiful margarita. Which will make you teary-eyed first?
Saturday, Apr. 6
9-11 a.m.--Breakfast buffet
Mateo probably won’t be there, but that might be a benefit for some folks. Enjoy a wonderful meal without having to hear “y’all” every third word.
6 p.m.--Before you go enjoy the opening of Marcos’ new neighborhood bar, enjoy the sunset and a margarita with us.
Sunday, Apr. 7
10 a.m.-12 p.m.--”Final” breakfast buffet of high season. We will try to have weekend buffets or at least Sunday buffets after Semana Santa. For the April 7 buffet, definitely no Mateo, but Carmen will take his place and if you’re nice she can make waffles and sing for you.
Monday, Apr. 8-Saturday-April 13
Bear with us as Mateo tries to figure out how to make all of this work. Feel free to show up any time of day because Cafe du Calcetin is open! Feel free to especially show up and get drinks at sunset, and maybe even some fish tacos. Feel free to buy a T-shirt. Feel free to love Mateo, because he loves to love you back, especially when the jasmine or goodness-knows-what flower blooms on Playa Blanca. Then he really feels so romantic that he even starts speaking of love in the third person.
