More organic produce

There is a new produce business co-located in the fish market building that is located on the east side of the "Y" where the road to Barra turns off of hwy. 200. It is a challenging intersection. When you turn south on the road to Barra you have to immediately make a hard left across the lane for oncoming traffic. There is a fishmarket sign. When I was there yesterday the owner was a little low on quantity as he has had much success. However his variety and quality were enviable. I saw about 10 varieties of fresh herbs, purple and green cabbage, carrots, parsnips, and the nicest red and green leaf lettuce, chard and so much more. Oh yeah ORGANIC!!! Headed south from La Manzanillo? check it out. | -------------------Re: More organic produce

Next door to the Productos Del Mar, there is a very cool and ambitous urban farming project on a very small plot. Cesar Sepulveda has a very ambitous hydroponic lettuce production pilot project underway. Additionally, in his soil and worm compost blend he is producing an amazing variety of other vegetables. While visiting recently I enjoyed tastes of radish, spinach, lettuce, cilantro, purslane, chard and others. One of the most intriguing aspects of his garden is that he is using seawater for his hydroponics and for minerals in his garden. As of yesterday it did not appear as the crops are quite ready for harvest, however if you are near it is well worth a visit. | -------------------Re: More organic produce

Monte - I dropped off some seeds for Cesar at the pescaderia next door. Cesar had just left for Manzanillo and the guys there said they'd give them to him. Do you know if he got them? San Marzanos and some lettuce. Thanks. | -------------------a video that shows what to look for:

Bodega Organico is based in San Miguel del Allende so if the produce comes from there, there might only be one delivery a week? | -------------------Re: More organic produce

We went on a Monday and they had almost nothing. Said they would have fresh on Friday, so I would suggest calling before making a special trip. | -------------------
