The Cooking Competition

My wife Debbie has been giving free cooking classes for Mexican kids twice a week for this season, and for the last 12 years. Today was the last Cooking Class of this season for the older Mexican girls - and it was an exciting Competition between two teams. (Some kids couldn't come because of the holidays) We invited Emeric and Christine - owners of the French Bakery in Barra de Navidad - to be the judges (muchas gracias!). Each team got the same ingredients, in two separate kitchens. The Comida was Chinese: they made Chicken Fried Rice and Beef Chow Mein. The dessert was Chocolate Cupcakes with cream cheese icing. Ana Barbee's (Mike Barbee's daughter) team won for main course, and Alison's (daughter of Isaura the massage lady) team won for the dessert. It was a very close contest - all fun and very delicious...there were prizes for everyone

What a confidence builder this must be for these kids. D&D, I think what you contribute to this community is truly marvelous. | -------------------Re: The Cooking Competition
