A big thanks to the small but mighty crew who got La Hormigas back in shape to receive more recyclables! When you get down and dirty with the waste you can see how much garbage we humans are producing...much of which is not recyclable. All that packaging! Everyone can help by buying less, and reusing more. Thanks again team! anyone wanting more info about La Manzanilla Hermosa can visit the FB webpage or contact me, lisafernp@gmail.com | -------------------Re: Michael Recycle...

Hola, recycle team. I was in PV and missed the event but drove by last night to see how it went. WEll, the recycling center looks spiffy and great. Good job, people. There is so much more to do but what a great beginning in getting each piece of reducing, reusing, and recycling in place. Be proud people for taking on the huge job for La Manzanilla and its families. We are not only helping to save the planet but the Primaria school is benefiting from the sale of recyclables and school building projects. Thank you Lisa and Vicki for heading La Manzanilla Hermosa endeavor. Thanks to Dean for volunteering to do a nasty but very needed job and getting the help together to do it, lol. More of this type of volunteering is needed to get the overall job in place and functioning like a little machine. Cruz | -------------------Re: Michael Recycle...

Thanks for taking this on, Dean, and to the volunteers. The pictures say it all. There’s a fun way to reduce your use of plastic by even a very small amount, and enjoy the alternative: The vine called estropajo grows wild around here, and it produces a scrubbing sponge that can clean pots, and just wash dishes generally. It’s also called loofah. https://www.thriftyfun.com/Uses-for-Loofahs.html A friend brought me some from Los Ingenios. I cut them in different shapes for different sized dishes. As soon as they get a little worn out I compost them. Using these natural sponges actually helps me enjoy washing dishes. | -------------------
