Looking for a recommendation for a pool restorer/painter. | -------------------Re: Pool Painting

Hi Jan - just a couple of things I have learned about painting a pools interior. 1) the paint will slowly unbind from the cement and clog your filter, so your upkeep costs are extended 2) the warmer the pool the faster the process (if you plan to have the pool heated) This season I am having the paint removed and colour added to more concrete and re-paving the interior of my pool. The colour will still be there but I won’t have the problem of the paint clogging my filter.

Thanks Val. I'll call you to talk about this alternative. | -------------------Re: Pool Painting

Val, isn't that pool only 2 or 3 years old? Are chemicals part of the quick aging of the finish? And finally, make sure your contractor roughs up the surface (giving it some tooth) before applying a new top coat. Good luck, Rojo | -------------------Re: Pool Painting

Yes, rojo, the Pool is only 3 years old and that’s a darn good point. I’ll have to ask them on Tuesday if the amount of chemicals they are using could contribute to the aging process. It could be! And thanks for the advise about “roughing up” the surface! | -------------------
