Wow! What a treat and honor for you! Looks like a juvenile Great Blue Heron to me... Generally solitary... The best kind of visitor, in my opinion. Enjoy! Judy H | -------------------Re: Heron? visitor

We have 3 or 4 on our beach each morning in Anacortes. One of my most frightening experiences is walking down the dock after dark when one squawked a primordial scream. . . I almost chose to jump in the water then to face what created that sound. We saved one that had been attacked by a bald eagle that eventually survived after being taken to a recovery center. They said to wear goggles and place a towel over it's head to prevent it from taking our an eye. | -------------------Anacortes

Hey Ron, how long have you lived in Anacortes? I went to high school there. (A "few" years ago) | -------------------Re: Anacortes

Hi James We've lived in Anacortes since 1973. A few years ago we discovered that there were 13 people from Anacortes visiting in LM. We have been coming to La Manzanilla for 20 years. ronsmitharchitect@gmail.com | -------------------Re: Heron? visitor
