For the last few nights the big OXXO sign as well as the smaller one underneath it, have not being lit up at night and it appears the floodlights have been aimed down. So no more violated night sky! I'm surprised no one has commented...... Gracias OXXO! | -------------------Re: Hooray! OXXO

Yes, noticed it last night when I arrived in town. Let’s hope it is a new trend. Lew | -------------------Re: Hooray! OXXO

Has anyone gone in to thank them? Or, written to those at OXXO who were written to before, thanking them? Its a good way to consolidate a positive outcome. | -------------------Re: Hooray! OXXO

I sent a letter a few weeks ago when I noticed the reduction in light pollution and I sent it to the same group I sent the letter of complaint. You’re right - it’s important we acknowledge that they acknowledged and corrected their contribution to light pollution. | -------------------Re: Hooray! OXXO

We have thanked Mr Bautista from OXXO, for the reduction of light pollution, however we also begged him and the company to get rid of the offensive highway sign that now dominates the landscape, I hope they listen. Nevertheless they are listening and if they follow their goal of good corporate citizenship and obey the urban planning where it states the need to avoid offensive signs, with enough letters they might listen again. Mr. Bautista told me that it would be too expensive to remove. Last year OXXO had a profit of 6.5 billion dollars, I think they can afford it. Let's try to get rid of that ugly tower!! | ------------------- |
