My name is Annaleigh, I’m a third year Emergency medicine resident physician, currently training at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque New Mexico. I also have an interest in global health and austere medicine, specifically Latin American health care.
I am looking to learn more about rural Emergency Medical Services, specifically ambulance services in Rural Mexico. I have spent a bit of time in La Manzanilla and it seems like a great place to learn about rural EMS. I was hoping to be in contact with Javier Ruben Guerro or Armando, who it sounds like are in charge of the ambulance services in the area based on their website, about possibly setting up a time that I could meet and learn more about this aspect of health care in Mexico, and possibly shadow or ride along.
I have an elective time coming up in December for my program here in New Mexico, and I think it would be very valuable to spend some time in La Manzanilla learning about your rural EMS system!
If anyone has any further information or knows of who I could contact to set this up, that would extremely useful.
Thanks so much!
