Nia classes return to Casa Luz this Sat. Jan. 4th and Tues. Jan. 7th 9:30am - 10:30am! If you love rhythm and music and appreciate a certain amount of ‘partying’ when working out, you will love Nia!
During the cardio phase there is a variety of music, often from the Latino segment with lots of hip mobilization. However elements taken from martial arts also give good strength training, centering and grounding, and will allow you not only to express your joy and inner party animal, but also your power, aggression and other emotions.
In addition to fun Nia also offers you calm, concentration and deep relaxation for all the muscle groups, thanks to the warm-up, cool-down and Floorplay phases, effectively minimizing the risk of injury.
The class is taught simultaneously at 3 levels of intensity along with continual reminders to feel for pleasure in your body not pain, and to work at your own level, even Moving to Heal in a chair if you wish.
I am a Nia black belt (as well as Yoga teacher and bodyworker) who has taught this joyful, holistic movement practice for 25 years due to its amazing benefits! For more info see my website www.Innermoves.com
