There you will find tables spread casually in a spacious and tranquil jungle setting. Coloured lights in the trees, where a family of green parrots nest. The bustle of the town slips away and a luxuriant calm descends from the gently swaying tree tops high above.
El Trasero (I hope I got that right) is the imaginative creation of owners Marcos and his lovely wife Dante. (You may recognize them from the Crocodile bar). They have converted their old family kitchen and adjacent garden and, with their own hard labour, turned it into something really special. (It was not mentioned, but I am tempted to think that there were elves involved.)
A charming young man called Abraham greeted us as we arrived. The tables gradually filled as the daylight faded from the tree tops We had Dante's already famous Chile Relenos. It was so good! This is Mexican home cooking at it's best! The Margaritas were also excellent, as was the Chardonnay, which was served at a perfect temperature(!) Cicadas provided the music, snatches of conversation occasionally reached us from the well spaced rustic tables. Moonlight filtered through the canopy above.....Now this really is special!
Go and experience this for yourselves!
