Many people get their internet from Telmex. It comes bundled with your telephone landline. Other people use Telcel and either buy time on their phone or subscribe to a monthly package. Then you can use you cellphone as a hotspot. There are restaurants that have WIFI but you will need to consider buying food as a common courtesy to use their WiFi. Also camping out and working at a restaurant is not something I would encourage. | ------------------Re: internet reliability

We have had a couple internet outages in the last month or so due to the hurricane and some other random reason. I don’t recall any problems at all in the year or so before that.

Internet is pretty reliable if you have a land line telcel connection. Otherwise, in my experience, it's iffy. In 11 years we've rented 5 different houses, 3 have had reliable connections. | ------------------Re: internet reliability

The internet is reliable. We use Telmex and it has more ups and downs that a comparable service in a large city is the US, but lots of people work with it. I have seldom not been able to work and if so only for a short time. That said, if you are a gamer or down and uploading large files you might need to do something different. | ------------------Re: internet reliability

It will not support any program which continually writes to the server storage; ie: the hi-zoot cad programs we used to design roads. Or, some of the trading platforms I have run across with real-time reporting. My 2 centavos of experience. Rojo | ------------------Re: internet reliability

I found over 4 months last winter that it was quite spotty and unreliable to have when I wanted it. I couldnʻt get on-line from the house I rented on the hill at certain times of the day. I was told that coincided with when all the hundreds of workers at the Tamarindo resort build were off work. | ------------------
