In the last few days we provided service for two calls. Last night we rushed an elderly gentleman who was having respiratory problems to the hospital in Manzanillo. He was kept overnight at the hospital for further observation. Previously we were called to the area near Zamora's vivero where a woman on a motorcycle crashed into a car. We usually don't get calls from that far away, but this was serious. Our crew were able to stabilize her, and they took her to the Proteccion Civil base near Melaque where she was airlifted to Guadalajara. We just got word yesterday that she has lost her leg, but--we helped to save her life! Go ambulance team!
If you missed the message earlier--Otra Vez has issued a challenge. They will match donations we raise up to $20,000 pesos! We're up to about $5000 pesos now. Help us to meet the challenge by donating today! You can simply hand your donation to me or any board member, drop it at the can at the book store, take it to Mayan at La Manzanilla Homes, where she will give you a receipt, or you can even wire it to me using Western Union! Let's keep this important community project going!
