I am thrilled to bring you the news that our wonderful community of La Manzanilla has met the Otra Vez Challenge! We raised the needed $20,000 pesos even before the deadline! Our ambulance crew and the board are all so grateful for your support!
Thank you so much to Otra Vez, and to all the great people who donated to help us meet the challenge!
We are all fortunate to live in a generous pueblo with a marvelous community spirit. As we accepted the donation from Otra Vez today, I thought about all that our generosity does in this town. There are the bigger projects like La Catalina Foundation, Helping Hands Book Store, Cisco's Amigos, Nadandos para Ellos and many more to which we donate to make our community a better place, but there are also dozens of people who quietly go about their day helping others. I want to thank all of those people.
I wish I could say that the ambulance crew are now all set and that we no longer need your donations, but that's just not true. The ambulance is a project that will require constant funding. The ambulance board is working at getting us foundation status, which we hope will enable us to get grants and possibly larger donations, but in the meantime, please continue to contribute generously to our wonderful community.
