Many young soccer players gathered in La Huerta and Cihuatlan to show their moves trying to impress the Atlas recruiters. Out of over a hundred kids, one of ours was talented enough to be picked this year. About twenty of our forty players attended.
So congratulations to Kevin, his family and to our soccer trainer, Agape. Kevin, from Los Ingenios, is thirteen and has played since he was four. Agape has trained with him for five of those nine years and helped Kevin open the door to becoming a professional player. Now Kevin will continue his education living away from home while training at a sport he loves. He and his family see this as a great opportunity.
Appreciation goes to all of you that have supported soccer playing by the old and young of LM. This week all the young players sported new uniforms. And thanks to Agape for his tenacity in getting the kids out to play, getting them off the street and thereby offering them the possibility of a different future.
Viva Kevin and our villages. Cruz
