What I am saying, is that all non essential activities and socializing should stop immediately. People need to work and feed their families. I support that 100%. It’s the other things, the socializing in the jardin, and other activities that could be done with a greater awareness of physical distancing that I’m suggesting happens now.
Until I left on Thursday last week, having decided on Wednesday the day before, I did not understand the seriousness of this virus. My plan was to stay in LM and ride this out for however long it took. Then, because I do have the means to fly away, and given my personal situation having my wife here in Canada, we decided I should go north. I went back and forth on my decision and when it came down to it, I realized it was better for me to return to Canada.
Do I feel good about the decision? Yes and no.
I never feel good when I get to make certain choices that others can’t make because of finances. I wish good health and a good life for everyone, I really do.
In LM, when I left 4 days ago, life was pretty much as usual. When I got to Canada, I realized life is not “as usual”.
I’m just another speck in the human chain, doing the best I can. Sharing my post today was, and remains, with the best of intentions and I stand by what I wrote.
The message here is; wash your hands often, keep a physical distance of 2 meters, be kind and generous. (Well, the last 2 are my additions).
Take care and to everyone, Salud
