LCF Scholarship Student Art Show & Garden Party Is tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 25 From 5:30 to 7 at LCF Complex The La Catalina Complex is located on the left, just behind the Kinder School but before the bridge crossing the river. Refreshments and light drinks will be served. The students receive 80% of the proceeds from sales and the LCF and the Dave Sullins Memorial Art Fund each receive 10%. Hope you can come out and support the kids. This years program, thanks to excellent translation skills by Maria Chavarin, allowed the following artists to present techniques to the scholarship students in the following mediums: Ron Stock taught the students 3D artmaking. Jody Jenkins taught taught drawing, Rennie Holly taught printmaking, Annie Olson taught watercolors, Katherine McCollough and Martha Meredith assisted. I’ll try to post a few photos of the young budding artists at work and some of their works of art at various stages of completion. Please come and see the finished artwork tomorrow evening Feb. 25 from 5:30-7PM. I know your will enjoy the experience!

Loved being a part of the teen art program this year.. we have a remarkable team of volunteer artists who were able to encourage the creativity in each student to blossom... and it was such a treat to watch Maria and the artists convey the techniques for each project so the students understood.. Come and see the fine results! | ----------------Re: Teen Art Show by La Catalina Foundation Scholarship Students

Alebrijes! Alebrijes! Not sure what those are? Come on down to the see what the teen artists have done with this subject! You have an hour to get off the beach, out of your swim suit and into the school yard near the yellow bridge. We’ll be watching for you! Annie, you may have read elsewhere on the Message Board that I wasn't able to attend the show and was looking for a photographer to cover it. Could you please send a few of the photos that include student artists to me at lfwedit@gmail.com, by email attachment, for inclusion in the La Manzanilla Memo section of the Guadalajara Reporter? (I was just hired Tuesday morning and didn't have time to change existing plans.) TIA, if you're willing. | ----------------
