If you are sticking around for awhile or if you would like to meet to share ideas and information regarding how we can best meet the challenges of the pandemic, please come to Casa Luz this Thursday 11-1. Be prepared to share your perspective and tips for getting us through this safely. Let's focus on how we can assist and support one another during this time. No blankets will be available. Bring your own cushion if you need one. If you have a cough or are sneezing, please stay home and take care of yourself. What: Community forum - preparing for the pandemic When: Thursday March 19th, 11-1 Where: Casa Luz, Boca del Rio #75 This is a free event. However, if you are moved to support Casa Luz with a donation, your gift will be very much appreciated.

What about the POTUS telling us not to gather in groups of more that 10? What about social distancing? And you're concerned about not having blankets? | ----------------Re: Community Forum to share and prepare

Your meeting would be better taking place in the garden than indoors. Space yourselves and refrain from shaking hands and kissing greetings. You all need to be aware that it is now known that the virus is known to be able to live on some surfaces for up to five days. Door handle, toilet flush handles, hand rails, even towels can be a source of contamination. Blankets and certainly pillows are a danger for carrying all sorts of diseases. They should be handled like hospital waste until properly washed in disinfection solutions. A little bleach in the water will suffice. | ----------------Re: Community Forum to share and prepare

Although the palapa is open air, because of these responses, it seems like the better use of our time is to use the message board instead of meeting here. It is a way we can support social distancing and still share information, so I am going to cancel the event and suggest we use the board. Thanks for the feedback. | ----------------
