YVR incubator!!

For all my friends and neighbours in La Manzanilla. You may want to be prepared for this if you fly home to Vancouver.Other Airports are probably similar. I just sent this letter to CBC my MLA and the minister for Health BC. Whatever you do GET A MASK. Be well! Stay well! I miss you all. Hello It's all very well to send out sentimental "come home Canadians" messages but take a look at what you come home to! This experience took place 2 days ago. I just flew back early from Mexico . I reckoned it was now or way later! I chose sooner. It all went well until we got to Vancouver airport where the authorities went to great lengths to ensure that passengers arriving from every country on earth spent a social couple of hours packed together in security and baggage claim halls separated only by an endless labyrinth rope barriers. Here we were packed together like cattle mingling at close quarters through mind numbing line ups and delays. They certainly know how to throw a party! As if that wasn't enough, Im sure the much cherished "touch screen" passport scanners and finger printers ensured that the virus was well distributed throughout the crowd . (And of course there was no one cleaning them.) Just to be certain however , right at the end of this very touchy feely process, our passports were examined again, but this time by hand, thereby ensuring that everyone had , at some point in the process, made physical contact with everyone else - no matter where they had come from . To be fair, there were a few nervous looking security guards hanging around asking people ( at random)how we were feeling and if we had colds. Call me neurotic if you wish, but this was not enough to put my mind at rest. Besides, they were packing hand guns and for all I know had ordered to shoot anyone who owned up or sneezed. So, in short, I felt like I had gone from low risk flight from a small city in Mexico to high risk flight from every city on the planet and all this within a couple of hours of being "home". This needs immediate attention Chris Welsby Gabriola Resident | ----------------Re: YVR incubator!!

Good post except this "Besides, they were packing hand guns and for all I know had ordered to shoot anyone who owned up or sneezed" was a bit much. Thanks for sharing and for contacting the authorities. Here are some of the people leading this parade

Thanks Daniel, Apologies for my sense of humour. Sometimes I can't help behaving like an incurable Brit. Perhaps you remember my "Agent Orange" spoof? The one where toxic chemicals turned out to be a smelly little man in a grey raincoat? Try this: "The 14 days of Corona Virus"recorded live on Gabriola Island. Have yourselves a cosmic laugh at mortality.
