Jalisco Coronavirus News

Excerpt from a FB post from a friend (Linda Bello Ruiz) Semana Santa starts April 5th. The State of Jalisco is implementing rules that will tamper down the event as we know it. There will be no massive events, no beaches filled with tourists, no overflowing restaurants. Church services are not being suspended but rules are in place to protect parishioners: no handshaking, no hugs, Eucharist in the hand. Outdoors events (the religious procession) has not be cancelled so far. | ----------------Re: Jalisco Coronavirus News

Daniel, nothing to be found on the internet yet. Linda's info was from personal conversations that she had with "the powers that be" from Jalisco. Here is her latest info from the Civil Protection Director... Update. I just spoke with Civil Protection Director. They are not closing the beaches during Semana Santa. They are not going to have police or Federales forcing people from the beaches as I'd initially been told was a plan. They have asked locals not to go out. They have closed bars and asked all restaurants who are staying open to cut their occupancy in half. They are limiting number if people gathered together. Strict cleanliness order are in place for hotels and restaurants. Hotels are contacting their reserved guests and offering them new dates later in the summer. This is all to "tamper down" the festivities. But, as he said "people are free to go to the beach." They will not be ordered off. So...be aware. If you're still in town during those dates maybe prepare to stay inside until it's all over. Stay safe! Hugs | ----------------Re: Jalisco Coronavirus News

What I interpret from these stats is that the rumor of the virus not expanding in hot humid climates is Faise. | ----------------
