Thanks, Monte. I love your straightforward suggestions. The ocean is so clear right now. I’m already opening my eyes underwater, as the virus can get in that way, too. | ----------------Re: Gargle for corona virus?

Since I was mentioned....the post where I voiced that opinion had no identifiable author or link. The information was not duplicated (that I could find) nor commented on nor reviewed by any health professional. The article also lacked any citations to any sources at all to back up its claims. This information has a source (I don't know it but I could research it if I wanted to), it is a duplicate article from The Federalist (click on the link at the top) (a site I could validate) it has authors and it has several citations to what look like good sources (again, I could validate them if I chose to). TLDR - seems ok to me. How to validate information on the Internet | ----------------Re: Gargle for corona virus?

Howie, did you even bother to read the article? How about the HOCL levels? did you read that part? If you doubt the "facts" maybe you should contact the two medical doctors that authored this article. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt." Abraham Lincoln or Mark Twain depending on which citation you like.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt" I don't agree with that statement at all. Nor do I agree with your using it to shame Howie for speaking his mind. In an interview Noam Chomsky was asked "don't you get tired of people asking you stupid questions? He said "no, they are asking from the place that they are, they are learning". We are all learning so please don't shame people if they #### up, it only shuts people up more. Those who seldom fail, seldom make anything. Its not the end of the world to screw up, its the end of the world not to. Yes, it is embarassing, I do it and blush but then move on, I don't die from it. | ----------------Re: Gargle for corona virus?

Monte, of course I read the article and researched both doctors who authored the study. Why are you so ready to fight, when I questioned the posting? No need for that in a civil discussion. Here’s a quote from your posted article, maybe you missed this part: (Notice the first word of the quote, and the word “could”) “Theoretically, regular daily hypertonic saline nasal irrigation and gargle (HSNIG) could be a proactive step to kill the Wuhan coronavirus.” It’s, in my opinion, reckless and dangerous to publish “theoretical” remedies during a serious health crisis. If someone gets seriously ill from Coronavirus, I doubt they’re going to start gargling salt water. Not a bad idea to do on a regular basis, but not for this. Did you do any fact checking to see the myriad of articles debunking the salt water gargling cure or prevention claim? No need to fight on this, or any differing opinion. Stay healthy everyone! | ----------------Re: Gargle for corona virus?

Thank you Daniel & Howie for your responses. I’ve already posted similar critical responses to a another post by Monte from this same sott.net site. | ----------------
