INVASION OF TOURISTS
Posted by Cruz at cruzio13@gmail.com on April 1, 2020, 2:40 pm
I was just contacted by a local resident merchant that one bus load of tourists has come into LM and are unloading. That they were not stopped by either our Delegado or Regidor, our representative to La Huerta. It looks like the wiggle room to the edict is happening or perhaps our leaders are unaware that they can call the shot or are putting it on La Huerta, avoiding repercussion from the segment of our community that might want tourism. Sticky wicket I'd say. Oops, I was just called again and told that our local police are not letting the passengers leave the bus area. I'm going out to see what is happening. I don't have a link but we need to know what is happening. Cruz | ----------------Alarm Correct

I went to the parked bus and it was reloading with the last passengers getting back in. The police intervened and told them they could not stay that our beach is closed. Yeah! The bus driver was on the phone trying to get direction as to what to do. The bus is from Guadalajara and it was coming from Los Angeles locos to land and visit here. So far so safe. I cut my previous message short so that the information on what is happening here is reported first hand and to stop the alarm. When persons tried to contact the Delegado about the bus's arrival, there was no answer so the callers assumed that nothing would be done and the alarm was sounded. I just spoke with the Delegado and he said that he has been informed that the beaches will be closed. What he didn't know was how this would take place. He said that La Huerta President will be coming to meet with LM and to give instruction on the beach closure protocol. There may be signs or barricades, the Delegado couldn't say but that apparently the police had already received word not to let buses in. Well, this is a good sign, I think, and we should let the Delegado know that we are happy that our pueblo is trying to be safe and that we support these actions. And lets support our local businesses, restaurants and families as much as possible while maintaining their and our safety. What times these are, Si Se Puede, and viva La Manzanilla. This is the best news I’ve heard in days. Cruz thank you so much for letting us know ASAP. We will sleep better tonight! Can’t let the guard down though. The hordes are coming I’m sure. If we can help let us know please! | ----------------Re: Tour Bus Gone

I am not responding to you Connie Vee but to the thread in general. My guess is that there will be about 50 to 75% of the normal amount of people here this semana santa. Yes, they will either ban or limit the number of buses (the poor people) but they will not eliminate nor limit the number of people showing up in cars. All this fuss about the buses is valid but misses the overall goal of shelter in place. | ----------------
