Spoke with local friends of ours that run a family restaurant the other night. They echoed the sentiment that if they lose Semena Santa they will not survive. I had it in my mind that if the beaches closed I would take it upon myself to make sure they eat. Are we all willing to do that? If not, we really cant expect them to give up their livelihood. They are getting more and more concerned about the virus but are much more concerned about feeding their families. In Canada the government is subsidizing people out of work ensuring everyone will make it. No such thing here.
Be careful in how you approach this. No one likes a pushy know it all gringo. This is their country. If we cant deal with that, what are we doing here?
Praying for the best outcome possible.
Any ideas how us "pushy Gringos" can work together to help each other and the locals as well?
