The "job" I'm referring to is preventing soreness on my nose. When I don't use the sunblock, my nose gets red and sore. I imagine covering my nose would work even better! Just my preference and convenience to use the sunblock. Always open to someone coming along and suggesting something even better!
I have little concern and no idea whether or not I am preventing the development of melanoma on my nose despite what Mercola might or might not have said about this product.
I do think that redness and soreness are signs of some sort of distress on the skin, though I have not consulted any double blind scientific studies to determine the "truth". Always interesting to see people on the beach - some totally clothed, avoiding sunlight and others uncovered out in the sun the whole day! What is "true"about sun exposure???
EWG - Environmental Working Group on sunscreen - another one for you to investigate - Science or Quackery?
Many sunscreens now restricted in Hawaii due to (supposed) toxicity to sea life. I wonder about sunscreen use here and our sea life? Have you seen any studies? djdocwat@gmail.com
