In the S.W. of the United States, many home hardware stores sell impermabilizante that is impregnated with aluminum which when applied leaves the roof with a silver-colored topping which is highly reflective. I have not found this at the Mexican Home Depot website but it is available at the U.S. website. (fyi home despot is the last choice for me). If this was used here instead of dark red coatings the interior temperatures of many buildings would plummet.
An established construction/real estate owner in this area advised me that in their work they have found that the most effective way to lower interior temps without air-conditioning is to put 2" of foam on roofs.
