of course, I will always answer any questions to the best of my ability!
The Costalegre/covid-19 Facebook group was started a few months ago by Linda Bello Ruiz, initially it was a public group that anyone could join and comment in and share posts from. Then this was closed to make it invite / request to join only and then shortly after it was made a private group.
Linda herself posted the following post:
"Hey everybody. Could we please leave Covid info here and not copy/paste onto the Amigos page? Please?
That page is followed by hundreds of locals and government officials. Not the best place to be complaining about their handling of the reopening. Remember, it's their country. WE are the foreigners.
I made this site private to be a safe place. Please express your concerns, fears here and we can discuss and resolve here.
I hope that makes sense.
Hugs"
Most people know that (and I am paraphrasing here) as a foreigner you are not allowed to get involved in Mexican politics as there are possible legal / immigration ramifications to this. Hence my comment here previously that there are at least two political members of the group so it is not a safe place at all to moan and criticize local political efforts.
So back to your question about accounts and verification. Facebook does require at the very least email back up confirmation when you start an account. In my case it is obviously backed up and verified by my personal emails and also some two-step authentication using my cel phone and some other things. However going by news reports we see from all over I assume that it is easy enough to set up a fake account using a made up email which would be used to click the 'verify now' link and activate a Facebook account (haven't done it so can't say for sure).
In escaping repercussion I meant (and understood to my knowledge) that if you aren't a member of the group then you cannot see anything that is posted there.
I cannot test this with this group as I am a member, maybe if you can click on the link below and let me know if you can see anything. This would answer the question about linking a post working like a public one.

I do know that being a private group the 'share' option which appears normally at the bottom of each post on public posts is removed / disabled. The only options are 'like, love, etc' and 'comment'
I am adding a picture which shows not only the removed 'share' option, but also on the right shows the privacy options and explanation.
If you have any other questions, just fire away (or start a new thread if you want it separate from this).
