What’s really impressive is how they use What’s app to communicate with each other while the project is ongoing.
People post photos, videos, text and voice messages, as soon as they identify an area that needs attention. This gets people over there to help, right away, so the major problems are dealt with first.
Problem areas are identified, ie, where many workers are renting a small space, and there aren’t enough bins to collect their trash. They throw it into the riverbed. Josefina offered to talk to their employers.
The smell of sewage is identified (Dr. Ramirez offered to check into it today)
Oswaldo was acknowledged for his donation of garbage bags.
People offered to:
- get a container over to one of the problem areas to be filled ASAP on Monday (Francisco, our delegado)
- get posters made, and get pledges for the money to pay for them. (Several people pledged)
- talk to the management of the construction project, and ask them to help with the cleanup (Josefina)
Later, Aby shared a photo of a section of the beach that has a lot of garbage - way past the cemetery, and that will be dealt with soon.
The point is, there were many messages shared, way more than I could count, and all were respectful, positive ideas, that could be achieved immediately, or very soon. Great communication, available to all.
Bebo (Alberto Espinosa) set up the What’s app group, and welcomes more members. You can join if you want to help clean areas, OR if you want to support the initiative in any way. (Moral support, money donations, trash bins, anything that will help.)
Contact Bebo at josealb10@gmail.com or 3151144586, and he will add you to the What’s app group.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could clean up this town to the point where it’s so clean that no one would dare drop a piece of trash? Is it the Disneyland phenomenon? Something like that. Dream big - what do we have to lose?
