The realty soon became apparent when a dozen tour buses parked along Concha alone on a busy weekend. Often 20 buses in our little north end neighborhood. "Paved and put up a parking lot". Oh yeah, 20 buses running the loud, smelly, obnoxious diesel engines for the air conditioning while the driver naps. The frosting on the cake is coming at the end of the day however, when the tourists leave their dirty diapers, beer cans and other assorted litter in my flower beds. Great fun you say, it will get better come Monday.
Monday, bright and early at 7am the first truck starts up to build air pressure. Soon the gravel trucks and parade of worker bees riding in grossly overloaded pickups and one ton stake beds headed for 4seasons fill the morning. Any gaps in the truck traffic are taken by any one of the five hundred new motos in town racing across the new short cut in Lamanz. Neighbors tried putting in some Topes back in the summer of '19 to slow the traffic on Maria Elba, nice work, but the town sent out workers to remove the Topes? Guess we are not allowed any self defense from the gross destruction of our peace and quiet. So now that I'm a good Mexican I guess I should roll over and submit without complaint? I'm not thinking so. Pancho was my hero!
Since there is a conspiracy of silence from the municipo, pueblo, ejido, and realtors in the area where does one turn to get answers. How much of our (folks who have invested) future has been mortgaged to support poorly planned growth.
When will the roads be repaired from the damage caused from thousands of overloaded trucks, damage that even includes broken drains and sewer lines near the square?
When is a plan for dealing with the tour bus traffic going to happen?
When will the sewer work properly?
When will water supply issues be addressed?
When will they finish the 2 new miradors?
So many questions, so few answers. rojo
