If you knew who it was with COVID-19 and where they live...what would you do??? | ------------Re: If You Knew

I know who it is and where s/he lives, and I'm not doing anything different than before, i.e., same precautionary measures with a little extra cane alcohol spray on hand. However, it is good to know that my "beach views" have merit and also that nicotine has unexpected benefits. What is the point of your question? | ------------Re: If You Knew

What is the nicotine connection to benefits in a Covid pandemic. I missed that part of the posts. | ------------Re: If You Knew

I didn't mean to be snarky or to go off-topic, but I really didn't understand the point of your question. If you know someone who has contracted the virus, you would follow pre-established protocols to offer assistance without personal contact. If you don't know the person well, you would stay far away from his/her home, honor his/her privacy, take extra precautionary measures, and maybe say a prayer or send healing energy, according to your beliefs. We all have prepared for this eventuality for a long time, so there is no point in panicking or freaking out. | ------------Re: If You Knew

Thank you for asking Lynne as I did actually have a point. It’s not common here in Colorado to make public exactly who has the virus or where they live unless it involves contact tracing. Of course as in any small town the citizens of LM have a curiosity of one another’s wellbeing and admittedly it is a highly contagious disease not to mention a pandemic but I doubt if it serves any real purpose to name the victims. If it’s someone you know you’ll find out but for those that are not part of your circle it might be personal and private information. When in public it’s important to remember even some who have the virus don’t know they are infected...it would be wise to follow the CDC protocol ...mask, social distancing and hand washing as though everyone including yourself might have it. | ------------Re: If You Knew

Exactly, Beccistarr. Pretend everyone has it, including oneself, then no guessing involved. Cruz | ------------Re: If You Knew

There’s a sign on the road in my neighborhood that sums it up...“drive as if your pets live HERE”. | ------------Re: If You Knew

I recently read a note that stated the now-dated reminder to use seat belts: Click it or Ticket The newer version of this might be Mask it or Casket. | ------------Re: If You Knew

I didn't realize that you are in the States, Becci, but I guess it doesn't really matter, and I apologize for misunderstanding the reason for your quesstion. It bothered me that the Jalisco government only publishes Covid-19 statistics by municipio/municipality, because knowing that someone somewhere in La Huerta had contracted the virus wasn't very useful. Here in La Manzanilla, some of the people who unknowingly were infected have publicized this fact, in a effort to help others who might have come into contact with them. Of course, in a town as small as this one, I'd guess that everyone has at least passed by everyone else at some point. Despite the fact that contact tracing will probably never happen here, I could identify everyone with whom I've had personal contact over the past four months, if for no other reason than to notify them if I ever get sick. (This is what we were supposed to do about STDs...when we were younger...) In addition to all the other precaucionary measures, I think it's a good idea to maintain a list (in our heads or on paper), wherever we are. | ------------
