No, Deano, no new information on Tamarindo. I'm glad that people are looking closely at the information we got from the two potential cases that did report to us. I'm glad they did. They reported testing positive for Covid-19 antibodies. But we can only make assumptions since their test results could be false. So, at best, maybe we had two asymptomatic cases and if so, they were at least two weeks old as of the 7th when they got tested. People right now are getting tested right and left in Melaque with positive antibody results. The test's name is Certum. The lab worker says that about only one test per day is showing up positive. So, at first glance with these results, we may have been having asymptomatic cases in our midst for awhile. Which is not surprising. The first case we heard about seems to be inconclusive and that person will be returning home from La Huerta Hospital to finish the quarantine period at home before returning to get retested. So, the only thing for certain, be careful and watch your Ps and Qs. Stay out of trouble, lol. Cruz

I clicked on the link to the manufactures website from the linked page above, here area a few translated notes. As far as I can tell its like a home pregnancy test. https://kabla.mx/covid-test/ ● A Negative result does not rule out present or future SARS-CoV-2 infection. In the case of a symptomatic case or a suspicion of recent infection, the only method recommended by the World Health Organization is through the RT-PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) methodology . Warnings on the Use of Antibody Tests for COVID-19 This test is for In Vitro Diagnostic Use (IVD) only in Cabinet or Clinical Laboratory Its sale is exclusively aimed at Health Professionals. ● The results obtained by antibody tests should not be used as a sole basis to diagnose or discriminate the presence of infection present with the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19 disease). ● In the case of a symptomatic case or a suspicion of recent infection, the only method recommended by the World Health Organization is through the RT-PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) methodology. ● The Positive Predictive Value of Any diagnostic test for antibody detection it is correlated to the specificity of the test and the prevalence of the infectious agent in the population. ● The analytical sensitivity of the test is 100% in samples taken from patients with at least 14 days of having obtained positive results in PCR. It is still unknown whether people with antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 are not infectious, may re-infect, or may have COVID-19 in the future. -----------------

.... yes the Tamarando workers stay in a flop- house hotel on Rosales in Melaque. Most if not all are bused in from DF fed zoo-like after their shifts out of the back of a truck... often throwing their white Styrofoam dinner plates every-which-where.... asked about this as the COVID-19 pandemic was just ramping up 2 months ago and was told... powerful developer and big money talks... nuff said? | ------------ |
