Questioning Covid-19 Case Numbers

Hola. I've been noticing something curious on the case numbers shown for La Huerta on the National County statistics link after local residents have reported active and asymptomatic infection: https://ssj.jalisco.gob.mx/prensa/noticia/9130 For over 2 weeks the numbers for La Huerta have not changed except in one category, Sospechosos (Suspected) which may or may not reflect our 1 unconfirmed case. The category went from 1 to 3. Category Confirmed is at 10. Category Negativos is at 32. Category Difunciones is 1. Once local residents reported their cases to us last week I was watching to see if these would be reflected in La Huerta numbers. They were not. At the same time case numbers for Cihuatlan and Manzanillo have been changing daily, going up and up. But ours have stayed the same, except for suspected cases. So why is this? It makes me think that we may have many more cases in our county that are not being counted or recorded. And this might be the case for many counties nationwide. Currently Mexico reports over 304 thousand cases. So, hmmm? Cruz PS: Moderator, I was able to put in a link.

"PS: Moderator, I was able to put in a link." Yes, I noticed that. Is this your first time linking? If so we shold create some sort of little pin or a badge to be given to those who are no longer link virgins! | ------------Re: Questioning Covid-19 Case Numbers

Cruz...I think you are onto something here! Marcos, the artist we show at the bookstore called today and said in the course of our conversation, that La Huerta has NO cases..which I find hard to believe! What is the criteria for posting...does Francisco have any idea? | ------------Re: Questioning Covid-19 Case Numbers

Hola, Stefania. Sorry but Francisco isn't helpful on Covid-19 happenings. He is as stymied as all of us on the subject. For some reason, La Huerta isn't informing him of too much or anything at all. But tomorrow might be a big day on information from La Huerta as we might find out if LM is going to be closed down and, if so, by how much; a little, more or lots. Even home delivery of restaurant meals might be affected. We needed the reten before to keep the virus out but we really need it now to help contain what we have already. But don't hear any noise in that direction either. I'll be visiting the Delegado on Friday to see if there is any way that we can get pertinent county bug news, information, or plans. I feel that we are in the dark and groping. La Huerta doesn't have our tourist invasion. Along with protection we need, at least, information on numbers and how La Huerta is handling cases. Cruz PS: The person with the inconclusive diagnosis was able to borrow a small oxygen tank from the BAEJAC Emergency Ambulance.

It is interesting to note the case count is different depending which gummint agency is reporting. Comparing the prior link posted here in comparison to: https://coronavirus.gob.mx/fHDMap/mun.php the numbers are a little off. | ------------Re: Questioning Covid-19 Case Numbers

Hola, Monte. Guess what, both yours and my link go to the same, I don't know what to call it, place; municipality map and virus statistics. But the stats made a liar out of me a little. The La Huerta Suspect category changed from 3 to 6 in just an hour when I complained that their hadn't been much change in over a week, Ha, ha, ha. Believe me, I checked the information as I was writing my message. Even Cihuatlan and Manzanillo recorded one more death each in an hour's time. The up-date timing surprises me, after 9:00 pm. My guess would be, that much like dengue, if it is not reported to the health services by the lab then it won't go 'up the line' and be added to the stats, to those who update the website in this case. At the beginning of this the only cases added were those that were processed in the state lab (in Guadalajara), this has probably not changed. I have no source to back this up, just my thoughts based on previous experience. | ------------Re: Questioning Covid-19 Case Numbers

Hola, Rebecca. I couldn't read stats on your first link. Script is too small. On the second link they only showed confirmed cases and La Huerta was at 15. So much for the 10 we've been seeing daily for at least 2 weeks. We have different counters, eh, and an increase of 50%, lol. Thank you, Cruz | ------------First link expanded

You can hold down the Ctrl button and push the + button to make it bigger. La Huerta is 1/2 way down on the left side with 15 cases. | ------------Cruzio, any luck at the Delagado with new numbers?

Is there anything in play for the number of new cases now as opposed to the "rumor mill numbers?? | ------------Re: Questioning Covid-19 Case Numbers

Yeah I think that the La Huerta is painting a rosy picture. At this time they are reporting 1 death in all of the Municipio of La Huerta while all of the others are headed up daily or several times a day. Hunhhh..............????????????? https://coronavirus.gob.mx/fHDMap/mun.php | ------------
