Thanks for the link Monty. I follow this long running topic moderately but feel that Mexico Daily News did a balanced job of reporting on it, with links to their sources. I am for the ban, and surprised when sentences like this are printed without some blinking an eye. "Because glyphosate indiscriminately kills plant life, in agriculture it can only be used on crops genetically modified to tolerate it". This paragraph is laughable, this battle has been going on for so many years, just what is needed, another study.... "Semarnat’s position appears to have put it at odds with the Ministry of Agriculture, which has called for studies to be carried out over the next four years to determine the safety of the herbicide". The action hasn't shown up on Reddit search yet but there are several subs that deal with the topic. https://old.reddit.com/search?q=phase+out+use+of+herbicide+glyphosate&restrict_sr=&sort=relevance&t=all Here is a sub for Bayer Monsanto https://old.reddit.com/r/Monsanto/ | ------------Re: Mexico to phase out use of herbicide glyphosate

Glory, hallelujah. There is a God. Besides getting rid of glyphosate, getting rid of GMO's would be a god-send. To think that Mexico, against giant pressures from US companies, is initiating this is a big, big surprise. Along with junk food reduction and labeling of foods high in sucre and bad fats, these two additional actions would mean better health for all, including and needed, by the children. May the resisters resist the war that will be waged upon them to keep the disease ridden 'food' on our tables albeit that it is produced at a lower price. We and the government pay the higher price later in needed medical care and services. We may have to grow our own and go organic for health and the pocket book. Just saying, Cruz PS: Kudos to people working here in the student garden, this looks like the way to go. Daniel, thanks for the links. | ------------
