Also, I want to pass along that basic staples are being provided every Friday morning to residents that sign up for them on Monday through Wednesday. This has been happening for several weeks now. People pay $140 pesos to receive $600 pesos worth of supplies. People sign up and on Thursday the Delegado calls in the order to a Colima bank. The biggest problem of this distribution is that not every one has $140 pesos. only 40 to 70 families participate weekly.
So donations to the Delegado's office can be designated to cover the distribution cost for identified families in need. $140 pesos gives them $600 pesos worth of staples, a good deal. Ten of us giving $140 pesos a week provides 10 more families with the value of $6,000 pesos in goods.
The Delgado's office gives receipts for donations and respects requests. For instance, someone donated $1000 pesos for disabled persons. This was distributed to 5 people who signed for their gift of $200 pesos. The Delegado and Esmeralda, the secretary are dedicated and honest and assure us that donations will make their destination and they keep receipts. Also, they know the community.
Maybe this is a way to spread the giving and assist more families, just saying. Cruz
