The Health Board established two new indicators that will define whether the "Emergency Button" is activated, that is, whether economic activity in Jalisco continues or is suspended for 14 days to cut the chain of infections from covid-19Governor Enrique Alfaro announced this afternoon.
The measure would be "more drastic than the one we took in the first stage of social isolation. It would mean closing all industry, commerce and services," the Governor warned.
Only health, safety and food supply services would continue to operate, not including restaurants, not even in the form of home service, he explained. Nor would tianguis be installed, nor would public transport operate except for the transfer of health and security personnel. Banks, churches, plazas, corridors and shopping malls would cease to operate, as well as government offices.
"We are confident that in this way the chain of infections can be cut to be in a position to continue with the next phase of reactivation without raising the level of risk for the population," he said.
The two indicators are hospital occupation and weekly incidence by date of onset of symptoms. If either one reaches the established limit (50 percent of hospital occupancy or incidence of 400 cases per million inhabitants), the "Emergency Button" will be activated.
Currently, the occupation of covid-19 beds is 26 percent in the state, while the second indicator is found in 290 cases.
The president informed that on July 15 a new instrument will be presented called "Risk Board" that will detail how and when the process of economic reactivation of the sectors that have not resumed work in the state will continue; so far, 72 percent of Jalisco's economic activities are already operating. "Today there are no conditions to set a date [for reopening] and therefore a new methodology will be built to make decisions that weigh the risk by type of activity," said Alfaro Ramírez. Likewise, the Board of Education will define the protocols for the return to classrooms in the coming days.
The Governor assured that they will continue working on the strategies of increasing PCR tests, voluntary isolation, the use of compulsory mouth masks, strengthening of inspection and monitoring of protocols in municipalities and the establishment of staggered schedules in companies. https://www.milenio.com/politica/comunidad/jalisco-boton-emergencia-pararia-actividades-14
