The locals tell me that around the time of the harvest moon, late Oct to early Nov, the currents and tides change. During that time the rocks are pulled back into the trench and higher, gentle tides put the sand back on the beach. The storms with their large waves and high tides strip the sand off every year as you know. Usually by the first of Dec things are in petty good shape again.
In years past when backhoes and dump trucks have been used to haul off beach material it makes me cringe with fear because that rock is the foundation. I fear our beach ending up like Barra, non-existant. Our beach is one of the best around and brings in lots of tourist. Well worth protecting. rojo
