All of my dialog is coming from someone who has an Intercam US dollar account and is moving those dollars to my Banamex account (which is where I negotiate the rate at which those dollars will be changed to pesos) or dollars to a dollar account in the US (usually a 1% transfer charge) or USD being changed to CAD (again something I have to negotiate).
As an aside, almost all real estate prices are in USD as that is the most stable currency i.e. changes the least.
So the deposit is in USD and held in USD so the deposit can be returned to the buyer (if the seller defaults) at the same value as they deposited less 1%.
Money in general bores me, I have never heard of TransferWise and do not plan on doing any learning about it, I will take your word.
But I do know how to use the Internet a bit and put the search term TransferWise into the Reddit search and came up with the following results, which I will not be going through but which those who want to can.
Be advised Reddit has many sub categories, e.g. r/PersonalFinanceCanada. the quality of the conversation will depend on which sub you are reading.
https://old.reddit.com/search?q=TransferWise
Thanks for the dialog.
