If you do accept the risk involved in travel to Mexico, it may be important to consider that the Covid situation is rapidly changing as case loads escalate and mutations increase. Government regulations one day may be replaced the next day.
I would suggest that before you travel you confirm that a PCR test is really available in Melaque. I say this because a PCR test requires requires sophisticated lab equipment and technicians. Since the test is done one sample at a time, quick results would not be expected. It could be a delicate timing process to get the test and have the results back 72 hours before travelling.
The quick antigen tests likely offered in most of Mexico won’t get you on the airplane home.
