AT GAP AIRPORTS THERE WILL BE COVID-19 TESTING LABORATORIES
* All passengers bound for the United States of America must be tested for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to boarding their flight.
* In view of the U.S. government's requirement for all passengers entering its territory to have a negative Covid-19 PCR or Antigen test, Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAPA), the Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP) is facilitating the installation of temporary laboratories at each of the twelve airports it operates in the country (Mexico), so that users who do not have a valid test from the U.S. authorities can take the test and travel safely to the neighboring country.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) order, which goes into effect on Tuesday, January 26, all travelers who do not have a valid test from U.S. authorities will be able to take the test and travel safely to the neighboring country.
Effective Tuesday, January 26, all passengers must be tested for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to boarding a flight to the United States and carry the results electronically or on paper for presentation to the airline prior to travel. Individuals who have tested positive for a viral test within the previous 90 days and have met the isolation criteria may travel by presenting proof of a positive viral test and an official letter from a health care provider or public health official authorizing them to travel. Although these passengers will not be required to show a negative COVID-19 viral test, they must provide documentation of recovery.
In order to provide quality service to users, we have agreed to facilitate the installation of laboratories at our facilities. So gradually, starting Monday, January 25, temporary VOC testing modules will be installed in our facilities. COVID-19 temporary testing modules will be installed at the airports of Guadalajara, Tijuana, Los Cabos, Puerto Valarta, Guanajuato, Hermosillo, Mexicali, Morelia, La Paz, Aguascalientes, Los Mochis and Manzanillo.
The cost of the Antigen test will be $450 pesos and the PCR test will be $1,450 pesos, both prices will be applicable only to international passengers on international flights. GAP recommends arriving with enough time to catch your flight and, if possible, to complete the documentation and flight requirements in advance. If the passenger wishes to take the test at the airport, he/she should add at least one additional hour to the time recommended by the airline.
In addition, GAP suggests that passengers consult with their airline regarding the requirements requested by the U.S. government and to be aware of possible changes to their flight itinerary.
