AMLO reported through his Twitter account that he tested positive for COVID-19 and commented that at the moment he suffers from mild symptoms.
“I regret to inform you that I am infected with COVID-19. The symptoms are mild but I am already under medical treatment. As always, I am optimistic. We will all move forward ”.
Through his social networks, AMLO explained that the head of the Government Secretariat , Olga Sánchez Cordero, will represent him in the morning to inform the daily work.
After testing positive for COVID-19, President López Obrador indicated that he will be monitoring public affairs from the National Palace.
AMLO assured that tomorrow he will hold a phone call with President Vladimir Putin , since there is a possibility that Russia will send the Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19 to Mexico.
"For example, tomorrow I will take a call with President Vladimir Putin because, regardless of friendly relations, there is a possibility that they will send us the Sputnik V vaccine."
Multidisciplinary team will be aware of AMLO's health
José Luis Alomía Zegarra, general director of Epidemiology , confirmed that AMLO is currently stable, with mild disease symptoms and is already in the hands of a team of specialists.
"Since the symptoms began, the team of doctors that was predestined and formed for a situation like this is already under their care, they are all specialists in the field and are being coordinated by our health secretary, Dr. Jorge Alcocer," he said. .
"A multidisciplinary team of specialists will monitor the health of our president and will promptly monitor the evolution that he will have to always maintain the best possible interventions we have in the country," he added.
