Gee, Daniel, for someone who claims not to have travelled in years you know a lot about what goes on north of the border.
“Fear is rampant”? Which media outlets do you get that from?
I live in a small community in the Pacific Northwest where everyone follows the protocols. And we know for a fact that nobody has yet to contract the virus in our community. Are we happy a about what we need to do? No. Are we concerned about the direction this is going in? Yes.
Having the knowledge about what is going on makes people feel safe. Not paranoid.
The problem in La Manzanilla could be (I say “could” because I am not there right now) that there is no knowledge on what is going on (reality?). Lacking knowledge, people search for answers and create some discussion around it. Knowledge is empowering. Why is it that when people attempt to construct reality they are fear mongers and hypocrites?
What about spreading hate? Who is hating who here? In a country just to your north there is a lot of hate going on but Covid-19 likely has little to do with it. In communities where people work together to overcome something horrible like this pandemic, there is a lot of love going on, respect for each other. I am so happy there are people in La Manzanilla who are trying to build that reality. Just the facts. Knowledge. Reality.
