Beyond shaming would be either physical violence or acceptance. Facts are slippery little ####ers, even when you got a bunch of them its more than difficult to convince everyone that they are true.
The Washington Post article the author links to links again to a Daily Beast article that says "Be Svendsen, a Danish DJ who performed a cenote set during Art With Me, claims he got COVID following the fest, and that he “heard of at least 17 other people” who also came down with COVID after attending festival parties."
Both the Washington Post and the Daily Beast articles talk mostly about either people getting the virus in Mexico and/or bringing the virus BACK TO THE US. I was under the assumption that the Stop going to Mexico article was concerned about travelers bring the virus TO MEXICO, kinda confusing. .
The Daily Beast quote is the closest the author of Stog going to Mexico gets to providing facts to back up his claims that travelers are bringing the virus to Mexico. The reason for that is those statistics don't exist, which makes his statements opinion.
What is kind of funny is that I basically agree with the author that people should Stop going to Mexico (or anywhere for that matter) but I don't have the facts to tell someone else who is taking precautions that they are bad, stupid, inconsiderate etc. for going there. Even if I did have the facts hopefully I would find a way to communicate them without shaming.
