Mazinka, I’ve been doing the same thing, but the hole has to be too deep and wide, to accept the residuos from 2 or 3 days, and I have to have a big supply of leaves, Tierra etc., right beside the hole, in order to cover the residuos enough. (I add fish bones, too, so that attracts animals for sure.) All told, it just looks unattractive, and is not convenient.
What I like about this is that the hole is straight sided, a smaller diameter, and deep. Yayo says he can dig it that way, no problem, though I guess a hole borer like they show in the video, would be easier.
I think this will rot down very quickly, but in any case, rather that digging it up to use it, I’ll just plant something that needs rich soil, on top of the compost, and we’ll make another hole.
Maybe I can find a sculptor who would make a turtle to cover the tire...something light, probably not papel maché, tho!
