I had to go to Melaque to stock up on beer, drove by the Lab, no one in line so .... They asked if I had symptoms or had been exposed to someone who had the virus? I said no, just curious.
It took a total of 10 minutes and cost $1,000 pesos. I could have waited 40 min for the results or they could email them to me. I chose the email, here is what is on the results page.
Not sure how to feel about the negative results, I think I would have been better off if I had the antibodies, at least that way the chances of my being past the drama would increase Of course those thoughts would be overwritten by the more fundamental reality, the test is bullshit.
Interpretation of the positive test for antibodies against SARS-CoV2
The presence of IgG-type antibodies suggests that the subject has been exposed to the virus and has developed an immune response, typically this occurs at least two weeks after exposure and clinical expression of the disease. Does not determine in shape categorically that you are no longer at risk of contracting the disease, but suggests that it is lower risk than those who do not have antibodies.
The presence of IgM antibodies indicates that the subject has been exposed to the virus and suggests that contact has occurred in the two weeks prior to the sample.
The presence of IgG and IgM antibodies simultaneously indicates that the disease it is passing its sharp form.
IgM- / IgG- There is no evidence of SARS-Cov 2 infection.
IgM / IgG- Probable recent infection without protective antibodies.
IgM / IgG+ Probable Recent infection with developing protective antibodies.
IgM- / IgG+ Probable past infection with protective antibodies.

LABORATORY STUDIES ARE BIOLOGICAL TESTS THEREFORE THEY ARE EXPOSED TO VARIATIONS BY VARIOUS FACTORS: FOOD, SUBSTANCES, SCHEDULE, EXERCISE, MEDICATIONS, ETC. FOR AN ADEQUATE INTERPRETATION, THEY SHOULD BE EVALUATED TOGETHER WITH THE CLINICAL INFORMATION AND WITH OTHER PARAMETERS OF LABORATORY. YOU MUST CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR.
Surprised that no one responded..so I will!
Where did you have this done? Did it hurt? Were you satisfied with the results or did you think them somewhat ambiguous? Okay..enough said!
Melque. No it didn't hurt, I got veins like a race horse, never a problem drawing blood.
A negative result is one of the more valid, the positive results are more open to error.
In retrospect, its good to know I am negative, but would have liked to take a swab test at the same time to know I am totally free of the virus. The blood test won't tell you if you have been infected in the two weeks prior to the test, and since I am already there lets do it all.
Testing negative really does very little to control the virus, testing positive for antibodies (if valid) would put one in a separate category, there were suggestions that governments make special passes for those persons so they could move more freely. I do have some pre existing conditions so it may be that I would not have made it to that category. Who knows eh?
IMO what needs to be done is swab test every week for everyone who works at a store, restaurant or delivery person. Those persons have the potential to be super spreaders. If they test positive they are taken off the job and given the equal of their pay until they can go back to work.
