I agree with Gerardo, sewer worked fine. However, since it is also called on to be the storm sewer during heavy rains it has a tendency to overflow at each manhole cover when overloaded. This spreads untreated sewage over the streets which mixes with the mud left behind to become part of the dust we breath all winter.
It is heartening to see water trucks employed to wash the streets after one of these storm events. I hope this becomes SOP down the road. As usual our neighbors here in Lamanz wasted no time in cleaning up the damage. Great help from Tamarindo's crew to do the heavy lifting on beach clean up.
Now we need to help all those neighbors who suffered damage from the storm, huge losses along the aroyyo, also slides in some steep areas of town. Donate if you can. rojo
