Car accidents, motorcycle accidents, scorpion pics, dehydration, diabetes, heart attack, stroke, cuts from machetes, snake bits, pneumonia, miscarriage, lacerations, drug overdose, and stomach pain. These are just a few of the problems the ambulance team encountered over the summer. In fact, since the beginning of June to right now, our team has gone on 59 service calls. At every call, vital signs were checked, the defibrillator was used, oxygen was given, and lacerations were cleaned. When the call was for an accident, the police were brought in, and most patients were transported to the hospital in Cihuatlán. I can’t tell you how proud I am of these men and the service they are providing for our village! In addition to these service calls, the team attending 4 different trainings over the summer, each one helping them to serve you better!
Now we need to once again ask for help. Some of the people served gave us a donation, but most of them just can’t afford it. Our coffers are down to less than half of what they were in the spring. Please consider making a donation to the ambulance so we can continue with this important service.
You can bring your donations directly to Mayan at La Manzanilla Homes, or you can donate with Laura at the Lab, or you can give the money to me. If you are out of the area, I’ve found the best donation method is to use Western Union.
If you have questions, please let me know. We count on you, and we want to continue to serve the people of La Manzanilla. Mil gracias!
