The refurbishing of Everardo’s house is coming along well. The outside, bedroom and bathroom have been given two coats of paint, leaving the main room to go. The electrical has been done and the bathroom will be assembled in a couple of days. Everardo has been anxious to return to his home and he will able to do so midweek.
There is some rather disturbing news regarding his eyesight. The doctor feels that he may some optic nerve damage and has referred him to another specialist - and an appointment has been made. He is a remarkable spirit and seems to have taken this in stride (unlike me, who {I’m sure along with everyone else} was hoping this would be an easy fix for him). We will definitely keep you informed of his situation.
Raffle tickets for the Efraín Gonzales painting to benefit Everardo are still available at La Galeria, The Lab, Helping Hands Bookstore and The Frozen Buddha.

Very wonderful to see all of the efforts the community has made to improve Everaldo's house I was informed by some locals that Everaldo has always suffered from diabetes. As such it is quite likely that he is permanently blind. How to accommodate this is something to consider when he returns to his home.
